Family Kicked Off Delta Flight, Threatened With Jail Time And Losing Children (Video)

A Father, Mother, and two young toddlers were allegedly removed from a Delta aircraft for the reason of overbooking. What the family stated is that since they turned down the request to give up the seat that their 2-year-old son had been sitting in, they were kicked off the flight.

The Huntingdon beach California couple, Mr. and Mrs. Schear, were boarded to fly from Hawaii to California as the employees from Delta requested the family to give up the space filled by the Mother and Father’s young son and put him on top of their laps throughout the rest of their flight.

The Mother and Father attempted to decline the request and quarreled with flight personnel. They said in the course of arguing that the flight staff said they may end up in jail if they didn’t comply.

The father said the flight employees told him:

“You have to give up the seat or you’re going to jail, your wife is going to jail and they’ll take your kids from you,”

Even though the Schear family felt that they had been within their means of disputing the airline’s command, the threat of going to jail was frightening.

The wife Brittany Schear elaborated and said:

“As a mother, you have a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old – it doesn’t matter whether that’s true or false. It put fear in me.”

After arguing about the issue, they gave in and said they would hold the son in their other 2 seats.  This was too far along according to the Delta employees, who then stated that the entire family needed to exit the plane.

This was close to midnight in Hawaii and the family was left to search for a hotel and then book a flight for the next day with United Airlines which cost them around 2 thousand dollars.

The family recorded the unfortunate event with the airline and submitted it online.
