A Dallas woman wanted on an outstanding warrant, was caught at an apartment complex soon after midnight on Saturday after reportedly leading authorities on a vehicle pursuit.
According to prison records, 26-year-old Marlene Choates was arrested and placed in the Suzanne Lee Kays Detention Facility on suspicion of fleeing arrest in a vehicle.
She has also been charged with manufacturing and delivering a restricted drug between one and four grams in Rockwall County, which is located immediately east of the Dallas metropolitan area. –
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy attempted to pull Choates over when he saw her vehicle’s back license plate light was out, but she refused to stop.
The sheriff’s office said that Choates ultimately from her vehicle and fled on foot into the parking lot of the Volara Apartments, where she was apprehended and jailed.
A $110,000 bail was imposed for her. In the inmate’s file, there was no mention of a counsel representing Choates.
