A Louisiana man who said he’s “not sorry” for killing his girlfriend’s molester was convicted of second-degree murder.
Jace Crehan, 23, was found guilty Thursday in the July 2015 death of convicted child molester Robert Noce Jr., the Advocate reported.
Noce, 47, was stabbed and strangled in his Zachary home less than two weeks after being sentenced to five years’ probation for pleading no contest to sexually molesting Crehan’s girlfriend, Brittany Monk.
The alleged incidents occurred when Noce, who used to date Monk’s mother, was raising her from ages 4 to 12.
Monk, 20, pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year for helping break into Noce’s trailer and attacking him while she was seven months pregnant with Crehan’s child.
Days after the murder, Crehan was arrested and confessed to killing Noce because he said the criminal justice system “failed” his girlfriend, according to the Advocate.
“I feel a lot better,” Crehan reportedly told police. “It’s not regret. Is it remorse? I’m not sorry for what I did.”
The couple is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 18. Crehan faces life in prison while Monk could be sentenced to up to 40 years.
