Health officers recently shut the doors on a Kermit, W. Va. Pizza Hut after the restaurant’s district manager was caught on in-store video surveillance of peeing in the sink.

The manager, who was not identified, could be seen taking two breaks to pee in the kitchen sink.

Pizza Hut released a statement, saying it was embarrassed by the individual’s actions and has a zero tolerance for any standard operating violations. The company also said it employee involved was immediately terminated.

According to Pizza Hut, the incident occurred after the close of business.

A sign on the door said the established was shut down due to the conditions inside that led to a serious public health hazard.

Mingo County Health Department investigator Brett Vance said it’s something one hopes never to need to deal with, but such matters are taken very seriously. Vance said the restaurant would remain closed until the place has been thoroughly cleaned and there are more safeguards in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
